Dr. Gerald Capraro earned his BA degree from Catawba College, his MS degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from East Carolina University, and his PhD from Wake Forest University in Microbiology and Immunology. He completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical and Public Health Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha, NE. He is Board Certified in Medical and Public Health Microbiology by the American Board of Medical Microbiology. His research interests include the molecular mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance and microbial virulence, and the development of molecular diagnostic assays for infectious diseases. Dr. Capraro is active in the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Pan-American Society for Clinical Virology (PASCV), the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), and the Southwestern Association of Clinical Microbiology (SWACM).

Daniel received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Rochester. He has over 20 years of experience working in and supervising clinical laboratories, specializing in infectious diseases, immunology, molecular virology and donor testing at the University of Rochester’s Medical Laboratories in Rochester, New York. Daniel is responsible for oversight of Viromed’s daily operations.
